My Third Trip to the USA, America April, 2007
At the end of 2006 I recieved an invitation from Rochester Christian Church Ministries in New York, NY, USA. I prayed to God to raise up Good Samarritans who would make it possible for me to visit there. At the beginning of January 2007, I received an email from people I had not known before.
The email was from Sister Leah and Randy White, a couple in the southern USA. The Holy Spirit had led them wonderfully to seek out a church in Tanzania that needed support. They had visited our old PMC website and noted our long-standing needs. They wanted to know whether our needs had been supplied.
Another sister in Christ in Canada had prepared a Profile of our ministry on the Generosity-Alive.org site, and presented a more updated perspective on our situation here. So I directed the Whites to that newer web page. They were quite impressed.
But I did not tell them yet about my needs concerning the proposed travel to America.
They gave testimony of a great burden to help this ministry and our church. They were prepared to help even if it meant selling some property in order to raise funds for this ministry. They quickly sent funds for;
1. Annual rent of our church building
2. Annual rent of our Morogoro daughter church
3. my visa costs for travel to the USA in April.
They also promised to raise funds for the land where our building stands. The plot is for sale at $7000 US. They will also help with building the Mission's headquarters complex on this soil.
When I told them I had been invited to America, but had to raise funds for my air ticket, and asked for their sponsorship, they agreed to sponsor me, and also to see to my speaking itinery so that my time there will have the most resounding success. The Whites are not rich in material wealth, but are rich towards God, and obedient to His Spirit in true discipleship and stewardship.
I am humbled and grateful for these new friends and prize supporters in Jesus Christ. We have a saying in Swahili which says, "Akufaaye katika dhiki ndiye rafiki." The English equivalent is, "A friend in need is a friend indeed."
If you would like to get in on the great things God is doing here now, please let us know through the form on the Support page, and do pray earnestly for Leah and Randy White, and for my trip to America! May God be honoured and pleased to bless it to many other hearts besides my own.
We have of course, so many needs. It is hard to know what to share with the kind people in America, but I want to be ready for when they give us love offerings. Some might be small churches and some may be large, so here is a variety of projects I can talk about. It will be interesting to see afterwards which ones might be covered in full!
Love offering projects:
1. Toward purchase of our current church building - $7000.
2. Head office complex - see details on our Profile at Generosity-Alive.org.
3. Transportation vehicle - see our Profile as above.
4. A full public address system, with keyboard, power mixer, microphones, speakers, and guitars - $10,000
5. Five tents and 500 plastic chairs, for our use and to rent out for other events (1 tent is $700, 1 chair is $5 plus) - $6000.
6. A big tent to seat 3000, for conferences and crusades
If you feel impressed of God that you should take on one of these projects, please let us know!
